On Switch, however, the screen always favours player one, meaning that those focussing on their character in the background may struggle to properly anticipate some incoming attacks due to the angle of the camera. Playing on individual screens means you’re always focussed on your own character front and center and this was replicated on the Wii-U’s two screen set up. The reason for this is predominantly the Field phase of the game where the camera positions itself behind and above the players Pokemon. The arcade version of the game plays on two cabinets with each player having their own screen. It’s in the local multiplayer that I found my biggest fault with Pokken Tournament. Standard two player local and online modes are available as well as local wireless play. This is a “story” in the lightest possible way, however, with a few scant cutscenes breaking up the action. A single player story mode sees you facing off against opponents in four different leagues. Reading your opponent’s intentions is every bit as essential here as it is in any other competitive fighting game and remembering how to properly cancel their incoming attacks is critical. Counters will cancel standard moves, throws cancel counters and standard moves cancel throws. As with the main Pokemon games, there is a pattern to watch out for with the moves you perform. To add more depth, Y and B will enact a grab move, while X and A will put your Pokemon into a counter. Hitting L and R again while in super mode will kick off a devastating special attack. It’s in this mode that you can do the most damage so choosing when to activate can make the difference between win or lose. When a synergy gauge is full, hitting L and R will put the Pokemon into a super mode, giving attacks a buff and tweaking the available moveset further. It’s this see-sawing of phases that gives Pokken Tournament its strategy as players try to fill up their synergy gauges. Again, landing certain moves in Battle Phase will shift things back into Field Phase. Movesets will be slightly different and the player that landed the shifting move will get a significant boost to their synergy gauge. Land specific moves, however, and players will enact a “Phase Shift”, switching the fight to a 2D plane called the Battle phase. Characters will have free movement around their opponent and will be able to collect orbs which will gradually fill their Synergy gauge. Fighting takes place initially on a 3D plane this is called the Field Phase. The deeper mechanics of Pokken Tournament are where the game starts to get really interesting. A given players choice of support team will likely come down to their preferred play style. These support Pokemon provide additional abilities during the round, be it a one-off attack, an area effect or a temporary buff to health, defence or damage. The fourth face button acts as a jump button, R blocks and L calls in your support Pokemon. Combos and specials are pulled off with specific button and direction patterns, which are not as complex as a game such as Street Fighter 2 but certainly have enough nuance that it’ll take players a while to learn the moves of their favourite ‘mon. It has a fairly simple control system of using three face buttons for attack light, heavy and Pokemon move. Players choose their favourite pocket monster from a selection of 21, as well as a pair of support characters, one of which they choose every round. On the surface, Pokken Tournament is a standard entry into the fighting game genre. This DX (or Deluxe) edition has now hit the Switch and rectifies that with a full character roster (plus a bonus character for the Switch, Decidueye) and all adjustments intact. Outside of a few stability tweaks, the Wii-U version never got the extra characters and balances that were added to the arcade version over time. Fans who bought and enjoyed the game lamented Nintendo’s lack of support for the title. A Wii-U port followed in 2016, fairly late in the console’s life. For the uninitiated, Pokken Tournament is a Pokemon based beat em up, developed by Bandai Namco and published in the arcades by the Pokemon Company in 2015. Perhaps the main reason a lot of gamers are looking upon these ports with a degree of positivity is due to the disappointing sales of the Wii-U for many, these are games that they never played due to not owning Nintendo’s last system and many are now jumping at a chance to have a go.Įnter Pokken Tournament DX. However the house of Mario has already shown fantastic foresight in porting Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to the console all bells and whistles with a bit of a performance upgrade and, most importantly, portable. It is easy to dismiss as laziness the fact that Nintendo are spending the first year of the Switch’s life pushing a lot of Wii-U ports to the system. Reviewed on: Switch (Review code provided)

Because the arcade version uses sensors around the monitor to gauge where the guns are aimed, one must simply aim the gun off-screen to reload. The House of the Dead 2 plays similarly to its predecessor, tasking players to kill attacking creatures with pistols. This prompts replies from either James (" As long as we have the will to live") or Gary (" As long as there is an answer"). He reveals that G and Harry are alright, and says " On we go, to our next battle". The screen fades to white as a gunshot is heard.ĪMS agent Thomas Rogan appears at the entrance to Goldman's headquarters. Goldman appears outside as a creature James and Gary exclaim his name.
Among the various possibilities of glycerol valorization, the catalytic hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2-propanediol (1,2-PDO) has been one of the attractive alternatives because 1,2-PDO is a non-toxic chemical and is widely used as an intermediate and additive in many applications such as polyester resins, anti-freezing, engine cooling, paints, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and foods 6, 7, 8. Therefore, the procedure for generating high value-added products from glycerol has received considerable attention and will substantially improve the economic viability of biodiesel production.Ī variety of valorizations of glycerol, such as selective oxidation, hydrogenolysis, dehydration, transesterification, reforming, and condensation over heterogeneous catalysts have been reported for converting glycerol into valuable products 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Furthermore, the rapid expansion of biodiesel production has led to a rapid increase of byproduct glycerol and a decrease in its price. In biodiesel production via transesterification of triglycerides in fat or oil, approximately 10% of crude glycerol is produced as a by-product 1. Biodiesel is one of the most widely used renewable fuels, which can be used to replace conventional petroleum-based diesel directly for both stationary and mobile applications. Biomass and biomass-derived chemicals have attracted attention because as renewable sources, they can replace petroleum-derived fuels for sustainable development. The reaction conditions to obtain the maximum 1,2-PDO yield were a catalyst-to-glycerol ratio of 0.028, a reaction temperature of 250 ☌, an initial H 2 pressure of 4 MPa, and a reaction time of 4 h.ĭuring the last decades, many research topics have focused on the development of renewable and sustainable energy resources owing primarily to the restricted availability of petroleum reserves and growing environmental concerns. In the study on the effects of operating conditions, increasing the reaction temperature, initial pressure, and reaction time increased the glycerol conversion but decreased the selectivity to 1,2-PDO due to the degradation of formed 1,2-PDO to lower alcohols (1-propanol and 2-propanol). The highest 1,2-PDO yield was achieved over a 15Co0.5Cu/TiO 2 catalyst at 69.5% (glycerol conversion of 95.2% and 1,2-PDO selectivity of 73.0%). The addition of appropriate Cu increased the glycerol conversion and the 1,2-PDO yield. The catalysts were prepared using the co-impregnation method and their physicochemical properties were characterized using several techniques. This work investigated the hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2-PDO over Co–Cu bimetallic catalysts supported on TiO 2 (denoted as CoCu/TiO 2) in aqueous media. Among them, 1,2-propanediol (1,2-PDO) is of great interest because it can be used as an intermediate and additive in many applications. This can be done in Page_Unload event.Glycerol is a low-cost byproduct of the biodiesel manufacturing process, which can be used to synthesize various value-added chemicals. I Found the best way to avoid the situation, that is to simply dispose your report object once the work is done. This one is a effective solution if you have crystal report in your own machine, but changing the registry value in your clien’t server is not a good idea. Second is to turn off the limit, by setting the value to -1. In my case the number of reports were greater than 1500 at a time. But this is not a feasible solution as you don’t know how many reports your client is going to print. One option is that you can increase the number to handle more report at a time. ‘PrintJobLimit ‘ is the number of print job the report viewer can handle simulteniously and the default is 75. One among them is when you are dealing with Crystal Report. But there are some cases where, if you ignore the disposition thing, your life could be hell. In recent scenario, it hardly mater any space consumption if we don’t dispose any object. Disposing of object is necessary thing after the job is done, but we hardly take care of this fact. Intel did make one smart power move with this chip and some others in the Comet Lake line: The Core i5-10400 sees the reintroduction of Hyper-Threading to its spec sheet. Intel's insistence on refreshing its desktop sockets with such regularity has once again shot the company's budget-focused options in their metaphorical feet. AMD's continued lean into Socket AM4 has proven to be a boon for the company, giving a much wider swath of upgraders the opportunity to beef up their existing AMD systems with CPUs like the Ryat a fraction of the cost of getting an Intel Core i5-10400 system off the ground. Speaking of the uphill battle that Intel has been fighting against AMD on the desktop, let's start off our discussion of the Intel Core i5-10400 and where it sits against AMD's lineup of entry-level and midrange CPUs, priced around $150 to $300, by looking at some of basic specs of both.Įven still, in my eyes, price cuts for this chip and other lower-end 10th Generation models may not outweigh the ultimate cost of adoption, which includes an LGA 1200 motherboard. The Core i5's performance doesn't do enough to justify a standalone upgrade in an existing board unless, for some unlikely reason, you happen to own an LGA 1200 board equipped with a 2020-release of a Pentium Gold or Core i3 chip. That is not likely in the case of Intel's new boards, and that dampens the value proposition of lower-end chips. That's in contrast with AMD's ubiquitous support of Socket AM4 with its mainstream Ryzen CPUs.īoards with that socket, through a host of chipsets, have been on the market for years now, and you may already own one. To elaborate on our introduction, Intel's move to the LGA 1200 socket with its "Comet Lake" 10th Generation desktop chips saps much of the Core i5-10400's value proposition, since you need to get a new motherboard for it. There’s no question that the Wacom Intuos 4 is a much better pen tablet than the Genius M609X, but then the M609X costs about one fifth of the price of the Wacom, and for the money it performs extremely well. It’s still not quite as slick as the instant response you get with the £400 Wacom Intuos 4, and there is a small but noticeable lag when drawing or painting with fast long strokes, but in most situations, and especially in delicate photo editing, it’s barely noticeable, and the tablet performs smoothly and effectively. It seems that Genius has learned by its mistake, because the driver supplied with the M609X is much improved, and indeed is the same version (v3.42) as is available for download from the website. When I reviewed the M712, I noted that the driver supplied on the accompanying CD-ROM was very slow, and that downloading a new driver from the Genius website markedly improved the tablet’s performance. Nonetheless the pen draws very smoothly, and the pressure sensitivity is good enough to produce realistic airbrush effects, or to mimic the action of a painting or calligraphy brush. The pen has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, compared with 2048 for the Wacom, and it doesn’t have the Wacom pen’s angle sensitivity. Like the M712 the M609X has a resolution of 4000 lines per inch, compared with 5080 lines per inch for the latest Wacom Intuos 4. As I said, these presets cannot be altered, however there are a further 14 hotkeys that can be set as shortcuts to launch any other application. They include some useful defaults such as New Document, Open, Save, Cut, Copy, Paste and Undo, but they also include shortcuts to open Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and Internet Explorer. The top row are fixed presets and cannot be altered. The driver software for the M609X includes a manager for the hotkeys around the edge of the drawing area. Some readers of my previous review expressed concerns about this, citing it as another advantage of the Wacom system, but I still have the have the M712 and do occasionally use it, and the original battery supplied with that pen still appears to be fine seven months later, so battery life doesn’t appear to be a major issue. Unlike the pens used with Wacom tablets, the pens supplied with the Genius tablets are powered by a single AAA battery, which is included. I can’t say for sure whether the new pen differs in operation, but it’s certainly more comfortable to use. It has two buttons which are positioned closer to the tip than on the previous model, and are consequently easier to operate. It is a different shape to the previous model, shorter and slimmer, similar in size and appearance to a fountain pen. The other obvious change is the pen supplied with the M609X. It is semi-transparent, so drawings or photos can be slipped underneath it for tracing. One of the changes for the new model is that the surface of the drawing area is actually a flexible plastic sheet which lifts up at the front. Like the M712 the drawing surface has a paper-like matt texture, and is very pleasant to draw on with the hard-tipped pen. It’s a nice looking gadget, and the build quality and finish is much better than the budget price would suggest. The M609X is a smaller model than the M712, with a widescreen-format drawing area measuring 13.6 x 22.8cm, slightly wider but not as deep as the A5 paper size, although it can switch between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio at the press of a button. The overall appearance is much the same, with a glossy black surround, two large rotary zoom/scroll controls at the top with a row of buttons in between, and 26 pen-activated hotkeys around the drawing area. The M609X is part of a new range of Genius tablets that have seen a number of improvements over the previous models such as the M712. For those of us on tighter budgets the Genius range provides a viable alternative at a fraction of the price. There’s no question that Wacom’s tablets are exceptionally good, but they are also very expensive, with prices for the new Intuos 4 range starting at £200, and one about the same size as the M609X costing around £400. The pen tablet market is virtually a monopoly, almost completely dominated by Wacom with its Bamboo, Intuos and Cintiq products. Today I’m taking a look at another Genius pen tablet, the G-Pen M609X, a medium-sized 9.5-inch model. Back in January I reviewed the Genius G-Pen M712 pen tablet, a useful low cost peripheral for graphic artists and digital photographers.
